The technology used in Nanalum was developed by NASA as a way to reuse waste water on the International Space Station. Nanalum works through electro-absorption and is manufactured with non-woven highly engineered water filter paper which is also impregnated with Granular Activated Carbon (GAC). The Nanalum module has a strong positive electrostatic charge when wet. Like a strong magnet, the positive electrostatic charge of the Nanalum attracts and traps organic contaminants.

Excellent...
The MUV system is excellent, the modular system is well thought out and the I didn't find any other water filter system that can handle viruses in such a compact package. Very pleased.

Originally, this was purchased as back up since I live further from the city and am constantly under water boil notice. Shortly after receiving it, we experienced the once in a life- reeze down here in TX. Thankfully, I had this and was able to provide clean water to my family and offer the neighbors. The main down side of this filter is that it takes longer times to fill up 1 gallon jugs. Overall this is a must have. Customer service was also extremely helpful when I contacted them.
