HydroBlu Introduces a Pressurized Water Filter That Removes Chemicals, Bacteria, Viruses and More

Sep 9th 2017

May 3, 2017 (Salt Lake City, UT) -- Water filters come in all kinds of shapes and sizes. HydroBlu just announced their newest water filter which boasts 99.999% removal of chemicals, bacteria, and even viruses.

The Pressurized Jerry Can Water Filter is an innovative filter that uses an internal hand pump to easily filter large volumes of water. The pressure built up inside the Jerry Can helps facilitate the filtration process.

"We built the the Pressurized Jerry Can Water Filter to provide users with a large amount of water," says HydroBlu’s Brand Manager, Aaron Kirkham. "As an example, in the past, a family that is going camping would need to carry enough water with them or use a small water filter. The problem with most water filters is they are really designed for a single user or two people at the most. The Pressurized Jerry Can can filter its 4-gallon capacity in under 15 minutes. This means we can easily provide families or groups with clean drinking water with very little effort."

With three user-replaceable filter cartridges, the Jerry Can Water Filter will filter water from just about any water source. The Jerry Can Water Filter comes with an Activated Carbon filter and separate 0.1 micron Hollow Fiber filter. Activated Carbon absorbs chemicals and heavy metals and also removes the dirty taste and discoloration from unfiltered water. The Hollow Fiber allows clean water to pass through while blocking bacteria. The Activated Carbon filter will filter up to 250 gallons of water, while the Hollow Fiber filter will filter a mind-blowing 10,000 gallons.

HydroBlu also offers a 0.02 Hollow Fiber filter which will block bacteria as well as viruses. Viruses include Hepatitis A, Polio, Typhoid, Enteroviruses, and more.

"Being able to offer virus protection is very important to us," says Kirkham. "We have many customers and work with a number of humanitarian groups who need to filter water all over the world. While viruses may not be a common problem here in North America, it is a huge problem throughout the rest of the world."

The Pressurized Jerry Can Water Filter is capable of filtering all of the following contaminants and so much more.

  • Heavy Metals - Iron and lead
  • Chemicals - Chlorine, arsenic, fertilizers, pesticides, diesel fuel, and more
  • Microbiology/Bacteria - Giardia, E. coli, Cryptosporidium, Protozoan Cysts
  • Viruses - Hepatitis A, Polio, Typhoid, enteroviruses, and more
  • Sediment – Removes bad taste and dirty color from water

HydroBlu hopes that this filter leads to more people being able to enjoy the outdoors, while also being able to provide clean water to families and communities that don't have it.
