The Versa Flow was designed to be as versatile as you. It easily adapts to your lifestyle and can be screwed onto a plastic water bottle, used inline with your hydration pack, used as a gravity system or bucket filter, or can be used as a straw so you can drink directly from the water source.

The Versa Flow water filter is one of the lightest and most convenient personal water filters on the market. Weighing in at only 2 ounces you don’t have to worry about adding extra weight to your pack or try to find a dedicated spot for it. It will fit virtually anywhere. This water filter is perfect for backpacking, hiking, camping, travel, and emergency preparedness.

Although it is lightweight, it is heavy in features. Every filter is built to exacting standards and exceeds EPA standards for filtration. The Versa Flow has many tiny tubes called hollow fiber. Hollow fiber works through size exclusion. Meaning the hollow fiber tubes have thousands of tiny holes (0.1 microns) that block 99.9999% of harmful bacteria, and 99.9999% of Giardia, E. coli, protozoan cysts and Cryptosporidium. All of these organisms are too large to fit through the 0.1 micron holes. Some manufacturers filter the water through the core of the hollow fiber tubes, but this restricts water flow because only so much water can fit through the core opening. We filter water through the outside of the tubes by bending the hollow fiber. This dramatically increases the surface area and flow rate of the filter while protecting the filter integrity itself. If the core of the tubes become clogged from sediment on the competitors filter you can no use the filter. The Versa Flow allows you to be able to backflush the filter, clearing out all of the particulate and increasing the lifespan of the filter. If you consistently backflush the filter you can use it almost indefinitely. This means no additional filters, cartridges, pumps, iodine drops, or batteries to ever buy again.

The Versa Flow water filter does not remove chemicals or viruses from water. Generally viruses are not found in North America or in municipal water supplies around the world. Check out the Clear Flow if you are concerned about heavy metals or chemicals in your water. Lightweight and low cost, the Versa Flow should be in everyone's backpack, survival gear or travel bag.

    LOVE THESE...

I really love this filters. Easy to backflush them and and they really paid attention to the user's need when they integrated the screw caps on each side. It's like an all in one type of filter and it also comes with a carbon filter to finish with a pure and clean water in your belly. I highly recommend these filters!

Light weight, flows well. Been using these for the last six years and have never had an issue. On my second one, about 2 thousand miles out of number one.

    Swings and...

I bought the Versa Flow last year. I have done three, two-week walks since and only used it during my last walk. I would fill a 500ml mug from a stream, put the filter in and suck the water through it. I can't comment on how good it is at removing bacteria, etc. I can say that although it weighs 45g dry, it weighs about double that when in use (because it's full of water). It also requires quite a bit of sucking power. It's not like drinking through a straw! I also found that water I drank through it had a strange, synthetic flavour. I still prefer drinking directly from streams, but this was useful where the source was questionable. Previously I experimented with screwing it into a bottle, once I found one that fitted (Coke and Lucozade work). I also attached a flexible tube to reach into bottom of the bottle. However, drinking from the filter when screwed into a bottle means you are fighting against an increasing vacuum as you draw water out, collapsing the bottle, as there is no pressure release valve. I ended up unscrewing the Versa Flo to allow air in, which made the thread pointless. I guess it would work with a collapsible bottle with a compatible screw opening.

Love my Versa Flow water filter: the flow rate is as good or better than any others I have tried. It is compact, light-weight, versatile (in-line and screw-on/squeeze) and effective. All the family have one now.

    Great and light weight!

This little filter works great super light weight. And simple design. Only have one complaint, I cut the hose for my camelbak and use it in-line. I wish the the hose connections were designed to have a barb the help keep the hose attached. It becomes disconnected fairly easily

    Love this filter!

I went through two Sawyer Squeeze filters that both became moldy because it was impossible to tell if they were dry inside after backflushing and airing out. I was super frustrated about that. Then I read a review of Versa Flow on SectionHiker.com and learned that it has a clear window so you can actually see if it's clear or not. Game changer. I've had this filter now for about as long as I had my two Sawyers and it is still perfect. Added to that vital (IMO) feature, the Versa Flow is so much better because you can attach bottles to both ends, unlike the Sawyers where you have to hold it and let it drip into another bottle. And of course you can use a CNOC bag with either filter but the fact that the filter comes without bags means you can choose whatever bag or bottle you want to use for your dirty water. Highly recommend the CNOC bag because it is so so so easy to fill, compared with the tiny small-mouth bags that come with the Sawyers that are darned near impossible to fill in ponds or even streams and rivers if there isn't a veritable cascade coming off a rock that you can use to pour water into your bag. Sure, you can use a cup or something like that, but that takes quite a bit of time so why bother with that when you can get the CNOC bag and fill it in 10 seconds or less? Bottom line: don't get a Sawyer, get this awesome Versa Flow.

    Works with Dasani...

So far I really like the Versa Flow. Good flow rate, no extra parts needed like a Sawyer, does exactly what you need it to. For those looking for an easily-available water bottle (like at a gas station or convenience store when thru-hiking) with threads that fit exactly on the Versa Flow without leaking, Dasani water bottles work well...and happen to be a size/shape that I prefer over SmartWater.

Perfect filter, just needs a little tweak…

Very happy with this filter but like others, had an issue with leaking if now screwed on super tight. Solved this issue by adding a silicone garden hose washer. Now I have the perfect filter. Thanks HydroBlu.
